The late Bill Bennett was a friend and an aviation pioneer in Newfoundland and Labrador who formed Gander Aviation, flying bush planes into rural areas for delivery of food, fuel, and medical supplies. He later built four quality outfitting lodges, three in the Labrador wilderness, catering to fishing and hunting guests. Bill’s life was one of passion for flying, for conservation, for being an astute businessman and a friend to all who worked for him or with him. I knew Bill in the final quarter of his life and shared some great moments with the man. This book, to be written in 2007 and released in 2008, is a tribute to his life and his valuable contribution to the early development of the province. |

In conjunction with Jesperson Publishing and an as yet unnamed larger publishing company, I have a contract to write a new and higher quality book about fly fishing and fly tying. The subject matter is still under development, but look for more news in a future announcement! |
